Frequently Asked Questions
What are French Macarons?
What are French macarons you ask? Unlike their ugly cousin (the Italian coconut macaroon cookie), a french macaron is a sweet meringue-based cookie. The shells are made of almond flour, egg whites, and sugar making them naturally gluten free. The two cookie shells are sandwiched between yummy fillings such as flavored buttercreams, ganaches, and jams.
What French macaron style do you use?
There are 3 styles of macaron making- named after different style meringues: French, Italian, and Swiss. Although I have used all three methods, I personally prefer and use the French method at Yeah Baby Bakes.
Are your macarons gluten-free?
Most of Yeah Baby Bakes macarons are gluten-free. There are a few flavors that are not and will be labeled as such. YBB is NOT a gluten-free kitchen. Our kitchen uses eggs, dairy, nuts, and some products containing gluten and soy. Vegan and dairy free options are availble.
How do I store my macarons?
For best results, our macarons should be refrigerated and consumed within 5-7 days or they can be frozen for up to 2 months in an airtight container such as a Tupperware.
Our macarons are best served at room temperature. If you will be storing them in a refrigerator, please allow 10 minutes to reach room temperature or 30 minutes if coming from the freezer before enjoying.
How much do your macarons cost? Do you wholesale?
$2.75 each. I do not offer wholesale or bulk pricing at this time.
Is your kitchen certified? My event venue requires it.
Yes! My commercial kitchen and storefront is certified by the health department and I am ServSafe Manager certified.
Do you offer tastings for event orders like weddings?
Unfortunately, with the small scale of my bakery, I cannot offer tastings. You are welcome to order flavors from my weekly rotating menu to try.
